Failure Condition
- Matterhorn Protocol Checkpoint 15-001: A row has a header cell, but that header cell is not tagged as a header.
- Matterhorn Protocol Checkpoint 15-002: A column has a header cell, but that header cell is not tagged as a header.
- Matterhorn Protocol Checkpoint 15-003: In a table not organized with Headers attributes and IDs, a TH cell does not contain a Scope attribute.
Suggestion
If the table is complex (at least one cell spans multiple rows and/or multiple columns) see Complex table header IDs.
If the table is regular (each row has the same number of columns and vice versa): In Acrobat Pro, select the Touch Up Reading Order Tool. Right-click the table and select Table Editor.
- Row header cells: Using the Table Editor, hold down the shift key and select each cell that should be marked as a row header. Right-click and select Table Cell Properties. Select the Header Cell radio button, and set the Scope to Row.
- Column header cells: Using the Table Editor, hold down the shift key and select each cell that should be marked as a column header. Right-click and select Table Cell Properties. Select the Header Cell radio button, and set the Scope to Column.
